This 11 day Southern Spectacular tour begins in the national capital of Wellington before a cruise across Marlborough Sounds to Picton on the South Island. Here you will travel along the spectacular West Coast to Hokitika and spend some time exploring this former gold mining town. You will then continue onto Franz Josef for the Franz Josef Glacier, a stunning landscape and living remnant of the last Ice Age. An exhilarating jet boat ride on the mighty Haast River in Mount Aspiring National Park stops at picturesque Lake Wanaka before continuing onto Queenstown. Here you will spend two days exploring this premier destination nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Southern Alps. Continuing on to Te Anau for the beautiful Fiordland National Park, you will love your unforgettable cruise on Milford Sound, the most accessible of Fiordland’s glacier-carved fiords. Next stop is Dunedin, a university city of Scottish heritage and New Zealand’s oldest city. A stop at the famous Moeraki Boulders is en route to Lake Tekapo where you will visit Mount Cook National Park and the Church of the Good Shepherd.
